Somebody mentioned using an ATM card in MX...and they do work. I've pulled money from my checking account (USA Wells Fargo)from several ATM's around TJ. That way, I'm not usually carrying large sums around... You'll get the dough in pesos, but so what? Figure a 10-to-one ratio ( it's usually around 9.2 to 9.4)and you got it made. 100 pesos is 10 bucks, an AB girl will want about 400 to 500 pesos, etc... The club girls prefer US bucks because the currency is more stable ( by far...) than pesos...Most of'em get a little miffed at being offered pesos, because then they will have to have them converted to dollars. ( A lot chicks have their accounts in dollars...). Also if they live in the US ( and some do...) they want dollars. I was surprised to be buyin' beer in pesos at "Unicornio" and then being given change in dollars. (This is the only bar where, I've been given dollars in change...). Then I found out that the girl who was "entertaining" me was born in TX and lived in LA...The bartender was doing HER a favor...not me. The pre-load is a smart move... |
