San Diego Police will again be conducting Operation Safe Crossing at the San Ysidro International Port of Entry. The dates affected are : 26-28 October 2000. Operation Safe Crossing is for the deterrence of underage drinking. PHASE I - San Diego Police will stop and ID any person 30 years of age and below going into Tijuana and turning away anyone under the age of 18, unaccompanied by a parent. Military personnel without their Armed Forces Identification Card will be turned away. Marines E-3 and below without an Out of Bounds Pass will be turned away. PHASE II - San Diego Police will also be arresting any person regardless of age coming back from Tijuana, who cannot care for themselves, due to intoxication. |
