The term "white slavery" isn't always as literal as it sounds, it's possible their situations got them into it as opposed to some gangster/monster that "forced" them into it. Plus how do you know whether or not they are paying off some kind of debt that either they or someone in their family incurred from the "recruiters". Lot of levels and layers none of us are privy to, and don't think cuz they seem to open up to you in the bar that you are getting every little detail or even a whole lot of truth. "To me the chicas have always appeared free to leave the employment." "Appeared" being the operative word. I'm sure I don't need to expound on that one. As far as leaving, dude they probably don't even have enough for the bus ticket back. And if they do go back with an empty wallet who knows what kinda shit they'd get. These aren't runaway teenage girls from the suburbs hooking up with a scumbag junkie in a big city with the option of going back home and getting a scolding then a big hug. |
