After 3 years my luck ran out.I'm driving in to the zona tonight,and turning off of Rev.Blvd.on the way to my usual parking spot at Leyva,and low and behold the lights start flashing.Well .I ignored them for a while and made the right onto constitution and pulled into the Leyva lot.The cop on the motorcycle,actually quite a nice young chap starts yammering and I proceed to tell him how I barely speak any spanish.So he says something to the parking guy who kinda insinuates that I understand more than I am leading him to believe.So he tells me to pull all the way in to the leyva lot and tells me in his fairly good spanglish how I didnt stop at the sign and then again failed to stop at ANOTHER sign,boths claims are true by the way.We chit chat for awile.what do I do.how often am I in TJ,blah,blah blah.I cant really remember the details of how it got to how much the ticket is going to cost me,but,my multiple offence will cost my about $80 in court,which he will accompany me to right now.And then ,get this he starts telling me how its bad for my driveing record if he writes me a ticket.So I ask for a warning and promise to never be bad in TJ again.That offer was politely rejected,and after he questions me about how much money I have,I tell him about $60,he says that will be OK.Yeah right!!I explain to him how I need some $$$ for my chica and he cant have it all.So I offered him $20.He counters with $50.I tell him no and I will take my chances in front of the judge.Then he asks me if I have a coin and he pulls one out of his pocket.Get this ,he tells me BE A MAN,and we will flip for it.He wins its $50,I win its $20.My final counter is you win its $40 and $20 if I win.Agreed.I give him my quarter as I could not tell heads from tales on his coin.He flips it and I WIN..Can you believe it....he takes my crumbled up $20 and is whining like I cheeted him and took money out of his babies mouth.He shakes my hand ad speeds away. The moral of the story is that there seems to be a huge amount of traffic police in the zona now....I quess its christmas time...so be careful! |
