Off of walking street directly across from Happy a go go. Usually about 15-20 girls working there all ranging from 7-10 in looks. Place is pretty small but mamasan's are all cool. Formerly Dream a go go. The owners have recruited some veyr cute girls here to open up hte place. One girl in particular ranks up with some of the best looking girls in Pattaya. Didn't get her name as I was with Jaul.

The talent in here is not bad, but they have this bullshit barfine setup. The on the wall they have a sign that reads: Barfine 500 baht, Special Lady 600 baht. Naturally, every lady I wanted to barfine was a "special lady". Yeah, right.

If they want to charge 600 baht then they should do so, but I see the 2 prices as a cheap little game.

I know we are talking about only 100 baht here, but I see it as yet another sign of the bars gouging out more and more. Most customers of the gogos are tourists and when they consider the values in Thailand relative to their home country they don't mind paying, but expats can tell you how much they pay and how much a Thai will pay and it's much lower than the first price quoted to a tourist.

Nana in Bangkok is a good example of how price gouging has ruined a great place. It can still be a fun place, but most of the barfines are now 600 baht, the beers are 110, and the ladies expect 2,000 baht for a 1 hour short-time. When I begin my trips here I don't notice too much until I look at how much money I've burned through in 1 week, but when I come back to Nana after spending a few weeks in Pattaya I am disgusted at the prices.

Living Doll is a Pattaya bar and there are a few others in town that are also trying to follow the example of the Bangkok bars in pricing.

What readers on the Hombre site and expats can do is to boycott these bars. I for one will not go to the Living Doll a go go bar.

Bkkguru, I'm not terribly happy about the 2-tiered barfine at Living Doll but I wouldn't call for a boycott. I'd reserve that kind of plan for places that short-change or run scams, like many of the Patpong places do. However, I would recommend many, many other bars in Pattaya before Living Dolls. God knows there are so many of them.

But sometimes when you're prowling for the right girl you just have to hit several places. You might actually find a real gem in this bar.

Also, remember that bars in Thailand change pretty frequently. A new mamasan, a manager, or just a new mix of girls can rescue a dump or kill a hot bar practically overnight. I consider these postings as a good source of information but they can go out of date quickly. Look at the timestamp on the last post and give us all an update if you have new information.

I visited Pretty Baby, Pretty Lady, Dollhouse, Living Dolls (right next to the Dollhouse), and Happy A Gogo. These were the best Gogos in Pattaya in terms of quality of girls in my opinion. I was told that Dollhouse had the best selection. However, the night I visited, the selection was average at best. So I went next door to Living Dolls where the selection was much much better. The atmosphere is better as well because the girls seem to enjoy their dance routine and generally much chattier with everyone. I left with another takeout and went dancing the night away at a disco among other things.

This place also has a Dream Girl Showcase, also on walking street. There were some serious stunners working the pole and the staff is very cool. The place is small but the manager knows how to recruit girls and treat them right. Most of the girls asked for 1000 short time and 1500 long time...great band for your baht.

Actually, this place is now called Living Dolls. I just forgot they changed ownership, bar name and the girls are much better looking than Dream Girls before.

I love Living Dolls. Soon as you come in beautiful girls are sitting on each arm. The other night I couldn't decide between the two and ended up barfining both. Got some great photos without having to ask or pay extra. One girl was such a ham she wants me to barfine her again solo so I can shoot more nudes. Even got some good video. This is Epi's favorite place on walking street. A lot of fun girls here and the talent is hit or miss. A lot of fresh talent goes in and out of this place as the managers see to it that the place is always packed.

Very cheap drinks here and still busy, the bathtub/shower thing was not being used, there was a motorbike on it to be had in some competition.

My experience:

I sat down and shortly after one of the girls introduced herself and was soon sitting in my lap. She asked for a ladydrink and I agreed. She took my ladydrink money (140 Bhat) and was gone about 10 minutes before finally coming back with my change and a shot of tequila. She sat down for about 30 seconds and then took the shot. Stayed there another 30 seconds and then pointed at another table and said something about friends and got up and went off. Did not come back.

Sat there for a few minutes not knowing what was going on and then realized the girl took my ladydrink money and then sat with me for 1 minute before ditching me. Grabbed one of the waitresses and explained and the waitress kept saying she couldn't help me now that it already happened. Finally she called the girl over and they talked for a minute and then they both laughed and then the girl went up to dance on stage. That laugh they shared pissed me off quite a bit, though I never raised my voice, and I asked to speak to the mamasan. The waitress tried to cover it up with the mamasan and said the girl was just going to dance and then would be back. The mamasan blew me off and walked away. I told the waitress she was not a good lady and she got offended and protested for a while. I asked to speak to the owner of the bar. The waitress eventually walked off after unsuccessfully trying to convince me that she wasn't a bad lady.

Called over another waitress and tried to explain but this one didn't understand and thought I wanted to buy the girl a ladydrink and called her off the stage and she sat next to me. I asked to speak to the owner but the waitress didn't understand that word so I asked for the mamasan again. This time I actually got to explain to her what happened and said I wanted my ladydrink money. I don't remember what she said or did but not much. The girl was still sitting next to me and then she started going on about how another table was buying her a lot of drinks and I need to think of her and she's just trying to make money for her family and 140 bhat is no big deal and on and on. I told her that's fine but I paid for a ladydrink and she sat for 1 minute and then left. I asked to speak to the owner or for my money. She eventually offered me 100 bhat and I took it and got out of there.


I couldn't care less about the ladydrink money, what irked me was her belief that she could just take my ladydrink money and then walk off and look for more customers and I'd just sit there and not say anything. The waitress doing nothing and laughing with the girl and then the mamasan blowing me off was giving me bloodlust. I'm a quiet dude and normally don't cause any problems.

Unfortunately this happens a lot in Gogos, if a customer comes in the gogo and the girl thinks she can get more tips or lady drinks of him then she will ignore you to go to with that customer. A gogo girl may suddenly ignore you if she spots her regular customer,a customer who looks after her by buying her loads of ladydrinks. I've even seen some customers give a young attractive woman a 1000B tip. The reason mamasans and even the owners don't say anything is because a young attractive woman is a goldmine for them.

I have never seen a dancer walk off with your money to go get herself a drink . They always call a waitress over to order and you should insist that they do. Pay attention to what they order. If their first drink is a tequila -- say no . A tequila takes 3 seconds to drink and that's exactly what you might get for your money. Three or four drinks down the line - "up to you" .

Unfortunately drink whores are on the rise everywhere.

Eh, I seem to remember a few girls getting up to get a drink and then bring it back before. The length she was gone (about 10 minutes) threw up a red flag though.

When I brought it up to the waitress and then the mamasan, I expected them to deal with it fairly so they wouldn't end up with a pissed off customer, but it was just the opposite. The treatment I got from them was ridiculous. If you can't even appeal over the girl's head then you're completely vulnerable to the ripoff artists.
