A buddy of mine who is an Army Ranger gave me this advice... If mugged and held in a choke-hold from behind...simply throw your head back...headbunting the ratero in the face with the back of your head. When the policia asks who the attacker was...tell them it's guy running down the street with a broken nose bleeding all over himself. My buddy advised me that leaning forward and/or lowering your body would only tighten the choke-hold. And kicking or shin scrapping would cause you to lose your balance...these types of defense moves are expected and anticipated by the attacker. Throwing your body back into the ratero while vigorously headbunting will catch him off guard, loosen the choke-hold, and cause him to lose his balance. At the very least you will slam him into a wall or fall on top of him...knocking the wind out of him. I was advised against judo moves involving lowering center gravity/lean forward flipping moves against choke-holds...because if the ratero flips over you and doesn't let go of the choke-hold your neck will break. |
