yo,

you have almost NO fourth amendment rights at the border. they can stop and hastle anyone. now the fact that they hastled you "after" you left the turnstile is pretty interesting. because technically, you were already admitted into the US (the inspector inspected you and let you go through the turnstiles).
one time, i walked back to the border with some dudes (who were from Illinois) and one of the guys was detained. I asked his friend (who was now outside on the US side) if his friend was a citizen (cause if you lie and say you're a citizen, you're fucked if you ever want to become a citizen or want to get a US visa). he said that his friend is a citizen and that his friend was "clean". i left shortly after, but if his friend was indeed "clean" and a US citizen (or LPR) he just learned that you have no 4th amendment rights at the border. hmmm, was it INS racial profiling...the dudes were of mexican descent.

i wonder,

cs
